Valerie Macarie

Valerie MacarieValerie is an educator-trainer who brings over 25 years of corporate business success in marketing and business development. Prior to co-founding Cat Creatives, she served in the finance and the real estate industries. Val has demonstrated achievements working with global teams for a large multinational financial firm and a renown national non-profit.

As an experienced trainer, Val has taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to people from diverse cultures while living in New York City and in the Midwest at the University of Cincinnati.

She holds a Masters of Education in Literacy and Second Language Studies with an emphasis in Cultural Competencies.

Val has served as a mentor for the business start-up incubator HCDC (Hamilton County Business Development Center). She has also served as a facilitator for a Cincinnati women’s group, Women Writing for a Change, empowering individuals to develop their writing skills, cultivate their creativity and strengthen their voices.

Val has served on the steering committee for the Green Cincinnati Plan that developed and launched over 80 recommendations for the environment. She is currently a member of the Adult ESL Alliance which supports educators working with immigrants, refugees, expats, and international students. Val is a speaker and presenter on cultural awareness and environmental sustainability.
